Digital Archiving Policy

Journal of Global Informatics and Technology (JUGISTI)  is fully committed to the long-term preservation and continuous availability of its digital content. We recognize the importance of ensuring that all published scholarly articles remain accessible to the academic community, researchers, and the general public, even in the event that the journal ceases publication.

To ensure permanent access and secure archiving, JUGISTI implements the following preservation strategies:

1. Digital Preservation Systems

JUGISTI utilizes standardized digital preservation networks supported by Open Journal Systems (OJS) to create decentralized and secure archives:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): This journal utilizes the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve published articles. The PKP PN ensures that journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service can be preserved for long-term access.

  • LOCKSS System: The journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

  • CLOCKSS System: The journal also supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to ensure a sustainable and globally distributed dark archive, guaranteeing the long-term survival of Web-based scholarly publications.

  • National and Indexing Databases: All published articles are systematically deposited, indexed, and archived in recognized national databases (such as GARUDA - Garba Rujukan Digital, or the National Library of Indonesia) and relevant international indexing platforms.

2. Author Self-Archiving Policy (Repository Policy)

JUGISTI supports the open-access dissemination of knowledge. Authors retain the right to self-archive their work under the following conditions:

  • Pre-print Version: Authors are permitted to deposit the pre-print version (the draft before peer review) of their manuscript in institutional repositories or pre-print servers at any time.

  • Post-print Version: Authors may archive the accepted, peer-reviewed version of their article (post-print) in their institutional repository or personal website immediately upon acceptance.

  • Published Version (Publisher's PDF): Authors are strongly encouraged to deposit the final published PDF version of their article in their institutional repository, on their personal website, or in non-commercial academic networks (such as ResearchGate or Academia.edu) immediately after publication.

Authors must provide proper acknowledgment of the original publication in JUGISTI by including the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) link of the published article.
