PENYANDANG DISABILITAS BERDAYA MELALUI STRATEGI PEMBERDAYAAN PRECIOUS ONE DI MERUYA UTARA, KECAMATAN KEMBANGAN, JAKARTA BARAT

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are vulnerable to discrimination, limited accessibility, and underestimated in Indonesia. People with disabilities have a lack of physical or mental condition, which is related to body structure, so that they have difficulty doing a job or acting. People with disabilities often do not get their rights, viewed with a negative stigma, which means that the environment of people with disabilities is still having a lot of problems in providing opportunities, participation or recognition for them. So it is important to provide opportunity, equal access and recognition for them. Therefore, Precious One is here to accommodate people with disabilities to be empowered through the manufacture of handicraft products, as one of the strategic steps in bathing and building recognition for them. This paper is to see the empowerment strategies carried out by Precious One for people with disabilities using qualitative research methods that produce descriptive data with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documents and reason, which use primary data and secondary data. Based on this paper, a Precious One's empowerment strategy is in the form of placing the right targets, providing education and awareness, building recognition, self-confidence and independence of disabilities, building collaborative networks, building good communication, and optimizing marketing through social media and marketplaces.
