PERANAN YAYASAN LOTUS KITA (LOKA) DALAM PENGENTASAN KEMISKINAN MASYARAKAT

Abstract

Poverty has become a phenomenon that needs to be considered by all parties, both the government and the society. Although every year the poverty rate has decreased, it cannot be denied that there are still many poor people who are really unable to fulfill their life, especially in urban areas. There are still many people who become scavengers, beggars, hawkers, and even homeless people who roam to earn a living for the sake of their survival. This research is qualitative research using a field study approach. The result of this research is that Lotus Kita Foundation has a significant role in alleviating community poverty, especially urban communities. The role played by Lotus Kita Foundation is in the form of needs such as economic, education, and religious aspects. Therefore, the poor can be more helpful to meet their daily needs, which is expected to reduce the poverty rate in the future.
