KODIFIKASI HADIS DAN RESPON MUHAMMAD MUSTHAFA AZAMI TERHADAP KELOMPOK MUNKIR AS-SUNNAH

Abstract

The controversy about the time of codification of hadith has existed since the Prophet Muhammad was still alive and seems to be an unresolved issue until now. This problem is further complicated when the western orientalists accuse the current hadith texts of inauthentic origin from the Prophet with the argument that there is a prohibition on the writing of hadith, they expressly deny the hadith (munkir as-sunnah). This study aims to analyze how the response of Muhammad Mustafa Azami to deny the group of munkir as-sunnah. This research is a literature study based on literature data, a qualitative approach is used to comprehensively describe how the arguments given by Azami to break the opinion of the group of munkir as-sunnah, especially on the aspect of hadith codification. The results of this study indicate that the writing of hadith existed when the Prophet Muhammad was still alive, supported by the evidence of hadith writings that had been written by many of companions Prophet Muhammad in the early period of Islam. This evidence automatically invalidates the opinion of the munkir as-sunnah group which states that the hadith is not from the Prophet Muhammad.

Perdebatan tentang waktu kodifikasi hadis sudah ada sejak Nabi masih hidup dan seolah menjadi persoalan yang tidak kunjung selesai sampai sekarang. Fenomena tersebut semakin rumit ketika kelompok orientalis barat menuduh teks hadis yang ada saat ini tidak autentik berasal dari Rasulullah dengan argumen adanya larangan penulisan hadis, mereka secara tegas mengingkari hadis (munkir as-sunnah). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa lebih jauh mengenai respon Muhammad Musthafa Azami untuk menyangkal kelompok munkir as-sunnah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan yang didasarkan pada data-data literatur, pendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk menggambarkan secara komprehensif bagaimana argumen yang diberikan Azami untuk mematahkan pendapat kelompok munkir as-sunnah, terutama pada aspek kodifikasi hadis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penulisan hadis telah ada pada saat Rasulullah masih hidup, didukung dengan adanya bukti-bukti tulisan hadis yang telah ditulis oleh sejumlah sahabat pada masa awal Islam. Bukti tersebut secara otomatis mematahkan pendapat kelompok munkir as-sunnah yang menyatakan hadis bukan dari Rasulullah.
