Menghimpun hadits-hadits yang bertema sama merupakan satu upaya untuk memahami Hadits dengan baik, komprehensif, terhindar dari kesalahan, dan lebih dekat kepada kebenaran. Hadits berfungsi merinci ayat-ayat yang global, menjelaskan yang masih samar, mengkhususkan yang umum, dan membatasi yang mutlak. Hadits Isbal, misalnya, ada sejumlah umat Islam yang menolak keras kepada mereka yang tidak memendekkan pakaiannya di atas mata kaki. Padahal setelah dilakukan pemahaman hadits secara komprehensif bahwa yang dimaksud oleh sabda Nabi saw. "orang yang memanjangkan pakaiannya" adalah orang yang menjulurkan pakaiannya dan menyeret ujungnya dengan kesombongan.
