Eksistensi Wayang Kulit Sebagai Media Dakwah Multikultural

Abstract

Wayang is currently one of the cultural heritages of Indonesia and is still one of the belle of society when watching entertainment. However, oftentimes wayang kulit is only seen as an artistic performance, but behind the performance there is learning and wisdom from the wayang kulit. The research methodology used in this paper uses qualitative research methods by taking sources from several journal articles, books, e-books, etc. The purpose of this writing is to justify the understanding of wayang kulit which is only seen as an artistic performance and story, but there is a lesson behind the story, story and philosophy. The results of this study reveal that wayang kulit currently still exists in the eyes of society by being one of the prima donnas of the community in watching art, and multicultural da'wah media/cultural approach is an effective method for preaching which was pioneered by Walisongo when broadcasting the Islamic religion in Java, even Until now, the art of wayang kulit is also still popular with many Indonesian people. The conclusion is that wayang kulit has been an icon and prima donna of society from Hindu-Buddhist, Islamic to modern times, especially being one of the da'wah media that has succeeded in spreading Islam in Indonesia, so we as the younger generation must protect and preserve the nation's culture so that it does not lost in time and do not forget national identity.
